New York's first vegan restaurant, was born in 1976 from the association of three partners and a herbal store in the East Village.
A few owners and moves later, Angelica became 100% organic in 1984 and the restaurant still operates on local produce as much as possible and on a
cash-only basis to reduce banking fees.
