Laotians are gentle people who speak Lao, some English and a little French.
The currency is kip but American dollars are accepted.
Guesthouses are priced from US$10 per night and hotels from US$40.
Transport is easy to arrange and you can choose to travel between the towns by bus or minibus.
There are no trains in Laos!
