WHAT IS A VEGDINING CITY AMBASSADOR?

Although we've had a worldwide team of VegDining correspondents and freelance writers since our site launch in summer 1999, our VegDining City Ambassador program attempts to more formally recognize - and reward - members of our team. As our site continues to grow and expand, we're committed to expanding our team to make VegDining bigger and better!

We're looking for VegDining City Ambassadors for major cities, with populations of at least 200-250k. But if you're from a smaller community, don't hesitate to drop us a line and we can see how you might take part.

WHAT WOULD I DO AS A VEGDINING CITY AMBASSADOR?

As a VegDining City Ambassador, you'll help us keep connected and up-to-date on all things vegetarian in your city/area by ...

• Helping to keep our listings up-to-date by regularly (bi-monthly, ideally monthly) letting us know if there are any new veg restaurants, cafes, food stores, groups, etc. or closures in your city
• Occasionally submitting mini-reviews (3 or 4 sentences) of veg businesses that you've recently visited
• Letting us know of any upcoming veg events of interest in your city
• Promoting VegDining in your area and beyond through social media and letting us know about promotional opportunities such as advertising in veg group newsletters, events, etc.
• Helping to build/enhance relationships between veg businesses and groups in your area with us at VegDining

First and foremost, you'd become a valued member of the VegDining team!

But we'd also pay you a modest stipend of between $100 and $200 US/year, depending on the frequency and over-all quality of interaction we receive from you. For instance, if you update us once or twice per month you'll receive the larger amount but if you keep in touch less often you'll receive the lesser.

We'll pay you twice per year - $50 US after your first six months and the remainder after the end of your 12-month term.

Freelance writing opportunities also exist for all our Ambassadors, at $35-50 US per article. Typically articles are 300-500 words - profiles of restaurants participating in our VegDining Business Member or VegDining Card programs or even travel features on recently visited travel destinations.

ARE THERE OTHER REVENUE-SHARING POSSIBILITIES?

Yes indeed! To reward you after your first 12 months as a VegDining City Ambassador, you'd be able to take part in these revenue-sharing possibilities, payable twice/year:

• For each VegDining Card or VegDining Membership purchased in your city (regardless if you were directly involved in the order), we'll reward you with 10% of our net on that order (ie after PayPal fees and VegDining Card printing/shipping fees).
• If a restaurant in your city signs up to participate in our VegDining Card or VegDining Business Membership program, and you personally invited the restaurant to participate, we'll reward you with $10 US.
• If you're interested in helping us also recruit advertising - and we acknowledge few Ambassadors may be interested in this - you'll receive 20% of the advertising revenue you generate.

Finally, there's no commitment term on your part. If you're no longer able or interested in being a VegDining City Ambassador, just give us some lead time (a couple weeks would be appreciated) and we'll pay up any reimbursements we owe you.
