"I am a native Californian, but spent my summers in Oregon with my grandparents. I became a vegetarian around the age of 16. My grandparents always encouraged me in my beliefs - they died several years ago, but they supported me in my vegetarianism. Pilaf was the first restaurant they took me to. I've now been a vegetarian for over 10 years. I now live in Houston, TX. There are many vegetarian restaurants here, but none as delicious as 'Pilaf'. I have compared every "veggie" resaurant I've eaten at since to them - and no one has come close. Their 'yellow plate' is every vegetarian's dream come true. I know that's what I look forward to ... every summer."

"The restaurant changed owner and now offers meat. So they aren't fully vegetarian anymore. Still a great selection and great food though."
