CHIMARA NEO-VEGAN CAFÉ

4th Floor, Greenbelt 3
Ayala Center
Makati City, Metro Manila Philippines
Phone: (632) 757-5652

    CATEGORY: VERY VEGETARIAN-FRIENDLY.
    HOURS: Daily 11:00 AM - 12:00 Midnight.
    CUISINE: Global Fusion (Quick Service).
SPECIALTIES: Meatless Taco Salad (a refreshing mix of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, peanuts, cottage cheese, soybeans, corn and mango) topped with their signature Mango Vinaigrette dressing. Other Best sellers include the PITA WRAPS (cold sandwiches): Earth's Bounty Risotto (organic brown rice risotto) House Franks PITA WRAP (veggie franks, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, dill pickles, corn and cottage cheese) PITA ROMANAS (hot panini grilled sandwiches) Ham and Cheese (soy ham, tomatoes, onions, low fat cheese). Chimara offers a lot of soy and tofu in their menu. Try their tofu-onion soup. With its rich aroma, you'd easily mistake it for gourmet french onion soup. Try their best seller Tofu Chips. The café is proud to be the first to introduce Soy Ice Cream, (a healthy, low fat, lactose-free, protein rich alternative to what we have in the market) which is an in-house formulation.
FEATURES: Chimara comes from the Greek word "chimera", which means "an impossible dream." They philosophize that “each one of us dreams of a healthy, harmonious and sustainable life but lack initiative in acting on it." "All you have to do is take a small step by enjoying our NUDE Food, and this life becomes your reality." They describe their food as NUDE meaning free from preservatives, additives and over processing -- a creative twist. Chimara promotes itself health buffs and vegetarians but mostly to non-vegetarians who never had the chance to eat out healthy. Calling their customers "neo-vegans", they do not discriminate to strict "vegans", or "vegetarians". In fact, 80% of their customers are non-vegetarians who just love their scrumptious healthy food. You do not have to be a vegetarian to be a neo-vegan! All you have to to do is believe in the philosophy that adds passion and meaning to Chimara’s advocacy. Even their re-usable cups inscribe, "We must be the change we wish to see in the world". They believe that to instigate change, change must come from within. Thus, the café encourages the use of recyclable, reusable products, organic GMO-free ingredients, and part of their sales is allotted to help the Center of Excellence in Public Elementary Education. 1% of your purchase in Chimara goes to CENTEX, an Ayala foundation project tasked to provide scholarships to bright and promising less-fortunate kids.

    COMMENTS FROM VegDining.com VISITORS:
"Last Saturday was actually my first time eating in Chimara. I can't seem to forget the taste of your meatless hotdog, it's really the best. I'm really craving to taste everything in your menu. I can't wait for my next visit. "

"Nothing beats my Chimara experience. My first canola based pop-corn sprinkled w/ sour cream flave is at Chimara! My first soya ice cream experience was at Singapore! Everytime I crave for soya ice cream I have to fly and book to SG. But now, Chimara caters the same soya ice cream taste that landed my palate at SG."

"I love this place! It's not easy to find a vegetarian-friendly restaurant in Manila so I really find myself drive for 30 minutes just to get to Greenbelt. Too bad your MOA loc closed down. I hope you guys get into the "delivery" thing though and I'll be your number 1 fan."
