    CUISINE: The Lodge has a full service international lakefront restaurant which serves fine gourmet cuisine, with distinctive flavors and quality from 100% natural food. Fresh organic vegetables come from their gardens or local suppliers and exotic fruits from the nearby Pacific coast. Organic superiority enhances the flavors and health value of the produce which is meticulously prepared. Nutritious vegetables are fused with free range eggs, local cheeses, legumes, grains, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices to create fine dishes with exotic pizzazz.
    SERVICE: Full Service to Your Table.
    SPECIALTIES: With culinary wisdom they create authentic dishes from India, China, Asia and Italy with contemporary cuisine from Guatemala, Australia and New Zealand. Each season nature offers a new palette to create dishes from. Fresh greens, lettuce, baby spinach, basil, arugula, and herbs are harvested from our gardens and selection of bread and pastries are baked in house daily. Particular attention is given to dietary requests.
    FEATURES: Inspired by nature the eco-lodge is constructed from volcanic stone, adobe, wood, and palm. A lakeside sauna, hot pool and sunbathing deck command dramatic views. Well maintained paths for every fitness level traverse old Mayan trails and ceremonial rocks. Palm thatched pavilions offer panoramic views of the entire lake. For adventure enthusiasts the grounds have rock cliffs for climbing, rappelling and cliff jumping, the lake can be explored using the lodge's kayaks and canoes. For those that wish to relax with body treatments, a selection of massage techniques with organic oils is offered. Set in fragrant gardens, Laguna Lodge has seven suites and a master suite.

Rooms are spacious with large private balconies and spectacular views over the lake to the volcanoes. Each room is individually furnished with rustic indigenous styled antiques and intricate woven textiles. Featuring king beds with organic Egyptian cotton sheets, towels and bath robes. In the bathrooms local marble and organic toiletries are presented. Laguna Lodge has been built by a group of Maya Kaqchikel from the local village of Santa Cruz, who, with their training and indigenous skills, have created a fine hotel.

The hotel service staff are indigenous, whom with ancestral pride and a gentle hospitable manner are eager to present their newly learned service skills to you. The highlands are rich in indigenous tradition and culture so as is their custom their female staff wear full traditional dress. In testimony to its ancient past after rain one can sometimes find a piece of obsidian flint on the paths around the area. The Lodge has an archeological display of ceramic, stone, obsidian, and jade artifacts excavated while building and from the lake basin.

    DIRECTIONS: The Republic of Guatemala is located within Central America. It is bordered on the north and west by Mexico, on the southeast by El Salvador and Honduras, on the northeast by Belize and the Caribbean Sea, and on the south by the Pacific Ocean. Laguna Lodge Nature Reserve is 147km west of Guatemala City, approximately two and a half hours away from the city by the Pan American highway. The Lodge is situated in Lake Atitlan National Park, in the western highland province of Solola.

From Tzanjuyu dock in the lakeside town of Panajachel the municipality of Santa Cruz La Laguna is reached in 15 minutes by boat for Q10 each way. Boats leave regularly for San Pedro or Santa Cruz and pass the area of Tzantizotz and the private dock of Laguna Lodge and Laguna Nature Reserve. The boats stop at the dock when asked and regularly travel back and forth.
