LUCKY LEEK

"Lucky Leek is quite possibly the best restaurant I have ever eaten at, never mind the fact that it is entirely vegan! A small, intimate restaurant, we didn't have a reservation and were disappointed to arrive and be told that there were no tables available. Sensing our disappointment, Seb (who we later discovered to be the restaurant's young owner), went out of his way to accommodate us, by suggesting a place for us to get a pre-dinner drink, and then making room for us to return to a beautifully set table half an hour later.

My dinner guest was a highly skeptical carnivore, who was reluctant to go to an entirely vegetarian restaurant, let alone a vegan one. Yet he was so impressed with the food and the service, that not only would he return, but he now recommends the restaurant to friends and colleagues visiting Berlin.

And this, according to Seb, is a regular victory for Lucky Leek. Their philosophy is to create delicious vegan food that appeals to everyone, especially carnivores. Seb and Head Chef Jojo believe that most people are afraid to try new things, but once they've dined here, they return, and always with new friends. Lucky Leek's objective is to bring veganism closer to everyone - not just to vegans. It is an inclusive, fine-dining environment, serving adventurous and creative cuisine. We enjoyed a three course meal of some of the most divine food either of us had ever tasted. We were exceptionally well-looked after by Seb and his team, who had an impressive knowledge of both food and wine, and I have not had better service elsewhere.
